Development of the rowing pool for Arena Štětí
The goal of the project was to develop a rowing and paddling trainer for the Arena Štětí on the Elbe River. The uniqueness of this project is highlighted by the fact that there are only a few similar facilities worldwide, and not all of them operate as expected. Therefore, during development, we employed methods of virtual prototyping, CFD, in combination with BIM, to transfer the proposed structural layout into the hall design.

An important aspect of the design was ensuring equal water speeds for both the first and last rower, maintaining the calmest possible water surface along the entire length of the pool, and achieving optimal water calming in the pump pit. Parametric optimization of the return elbows and settling pit was used for this purpose, testing several hundred different combinations of dimensions for these components. Finally, calming baffles were designed, and the entire pool, including pumps, was recalculated in 3D for final adjustments.
